Sometimes money can't be given, but time and effort can. Travel to different places, helping meet the needs of local churches or like-minded organizations while learning a trade or gaining experience in an industry.
The purpose of the team we assemble is twofold. First, we want believers who share our beliefs and are looking to work alongside a seasoned couple and learn what it means to live a successful, extravagant Christian life. The crew serves alongside a mature couple or leader who mentors the whole team the entire time they're serving. Not just running the job site, but watching over how it's run. Because the crew is young and mixed, we take real care in how it's built: clear boundaries around how men and women on the team interact, and clear expectations communicated to parents before any minor on the team is sent out. We'd rather move slower here than get it wrong.
What we want in team leaders is, first and foremost, a leadership quality: the ability to lead; second and even more important, the leader must be a seasoned believer who is in good standing with a church of like belief. Leaders are expected to guide and mentor their team, organize and delegate tasks, communicate effectively with both the team and any partnering ministries, and oversee the completion of assigned projects. They will be responsible for coordinating schedules, ensuring safety and adherence to standards, reporting progress, and helping resolve any challenges that arise during projects. Beyond these two things, a leader must be able to travel and coordinate projects they are asked to be a part of.
Believers who want to be mentored and are willing to work hard. Some of the tasks assigned to our crews will include new construction projects, building repairs, building maintenance, disaster relief, cleaning, general upkeep, and more. The goal is to provide a way for young believers to enter the workforce alongside seasoned believers and grow under them in both their knowledge of Christ and their knowledge of an industry where we can help them grow. Most roles are project-based and can vary in time commitment depending on the project and your availability. Some projects may require a part-time commitment or consistent involvement over several weeks, while others may involve only a weekend or specific days. Members can expect to be plugged into ministries on the weekends when at a church, maybe by running a teen or youth class. It really depends on the needs. More information about time commitments for each project will be provided during the application review process.
We understand that we are working on somebody else's ground, in somebody else's church or organization. We won't always agree on every point of doctrine, and that's fine; we're not there to correct anybody or take over what they're already doing. We show up to build, to give, and to preach Christ. Nothing more, nothing less, well, maybe a little more, we do love fellowship!
